NOTICE OF HEARING TO CONSIDER ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA DESIGNATION
Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Scottsburg on July 1, 2019, adopted a resolution (the “Declaratory Resolution”) designating certain property in the City of Scottsburg as an Economic Revitalization Area. The Council will hold a public hearing on August 5, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., City Hall, 2 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana to receive and hear any remonstrances or objections to the Declaratory Resolution and after the public hearing will take final action to confirm, modify and confirm, or rescind the Declaratory Resolution. At the hearing the Common Council will also consider adopting a waiver of the requirement that the property be designated an economic revitalization area before initiation of a project on the affected property and the waiver of other matters which may be waived under I.C. 6-1.1-12.1-11.3. At the conclusion of the hearing the Council will take final action on the proposed waiver. A copy of the Declaratory Resolution declaring an area, consisting of approximately 43 acres, and located south of Meranda Lane in Scottsburg, Indiana, and along Interstate 65 as an economic revitalization area is available for inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Scottsburg.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED SALE OF REAL ESTATE AND INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE AT 64 S. MAIN STREET, SCOTTSBURG, INDIANA
Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Scottsburg will hold a public hearing on July 22, 2019 at 6:45 p.m., at City Hall, 2 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana on the proposed sale of the real estate located at 64 S. Main St., Scottsburg, Indiana. The real estate parcel number is 72-05-20-310-030.000-008. The real estate that is the subject of the proposed sale is presently owned by the City of Scottsburg. At the public hearing on the proposed sale of real estate interested persons may appear and comment upon the proposed sale.
If the Common Council approves sale of the real estate, the City of Scottsburg Board of Public Works and Safety will receive and consider sealed bids for the purchase of the real estate. Bids may be submitted any time after July 3, 2019, but must be received by the office of the Mayor, City Hall, 2 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana no later than 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2019. Bids received prior to this time will be opened and publicly read at the public meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety at 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2019, at City Hall. Conditions for sale of the real estate and the bid for purchase of the real estate are as follows: the sale price will be no less than $103,000; the purchaser will be required to commit to construction of at least two residential dwelling units on the 2nd floor of the structure and rental or sale of the first floor of the structure for use as a full-service restaurant. The Bidder must present information to the City that construction will begin within 30 days of purchase of the building by the Bidder and that the Bidder has a Letter of Intent from a restaurant operator to locate at the premises.
Any questions regarding the proposed sale and bid specifications should be directed to the office of the Mayor. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the title “City of Scottsburg sale of 64 S. Main Street” and the name, address, telephone number, and email address of the Bidder. The City reserves the right to reject any, or all, bids and to waive any informalities in bidding. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled time for opening the bids. Any bid received after 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2019 will not be considered. The City may make any investigations deemed necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to comply with the requirements of the sale of the real estate, and any prospective Bidder shall furnish to the City all such information for this purpose if requested by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, a Bidder fails to satisfy the City that the Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the purchase of the real estate and to complete the work contemplated therein. The City will consider proposals by the Bidder as to how the purchase price may be paid in full over a period of time in coordination with the construction financing to be obtained by the Bidder for this project. Each Bidder is responsible for inspecting the property. The property will be sold “AS IS”.

The real estate parcel number is 72-05-20-310-031.000-008. The real estate that is the subject of the proposed sale is presently owned by the City of Scottsburg Redevelopment Commission.
The Scottsburg Redevelopment Commission will receive and consider sealed bids for the purchase of the real estate. Bids may be submitted any time after July 3, 2019, but must be received by the office of the Mayor, City Hall, 2 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana no later than 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2019. Bids received prior to this time will be opened and publicly read at a public meeting of the Scottsburg Redevelopment Commission at City Hall at 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2019.
