In January of 2019, detectives with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation of identity theft on a victim who resides in another state.
According to Sheriff Jerry Goodin, the preliminary investigation revealed Patricia Juan, 22, of 245 Sparks Street in Brownstown, originally from Mexico, allegedly crossed the US/Mexico border and obtained employment in Scott County by using a Social Security Number and name she obtained illegally.
Patricia Juan, was arrested for identity theft on Wednesday, March 20, and incarcerated at the Scott County Jail, at 12:29 p.m.
She was released from jail on a $1,000 cash bond at 1:55 p.m. Friday, March 22.
An initial hearing has been scheduled before Scott Circuit Court Judge Jason Mount on Tuesday, April 2.
All of the arrested female’s information was forwarded to federal authorities, according to Goodin.
