Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin reported law enforcement with his department continue their crackdown on illegal drugs in Scott County.
Deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department went to 331 Muriel Drive in Scottsburg on Sunday, Feb. 17, to serve an arrest warrant.
After entering the residence, a deputy observed that a female was attempting to exit the rear of the residence through a window. Tiffany Stidham, 22, of Scottsburg was quickly apprehended.
Deputies also observed Anthony Fortner, putting items into a closet. After completing the investigation Fortner, 47, of Scottsburg, was arrested for possession of narcotic drug, possession of a syringe (2nd offense), possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.
Tiffany Stidham was arrested for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of justice and visiting a common nuisance.
On Monday, Feb. 18, Scott County Deputies acted on a tip and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver of the vehicle Shae Henson, 21, of Lexington was discovered to have approximately 10 grams of marijuana and a large amount of counterfeit money.
Following the investigation, Henson was arrested for dealing marijuana within 500 feet of a school, maintaining a common nuisance and counterfeiting.
Later that Monday evening, acting on a tip, Deputies went to the residence of Teresa Korte, 59, of Scottsburg. After a search of Korte’s residence marijuana was located.
Korte was arrested for dealing in marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18, Scott County Deputies went to 126 N. Michael Drive, Apartment # 6, in Scottsburg to serve an arrest warrant on Otis Bishop, age 36. As Deputies arrived and began talking with Bishop, he began throwing items that he had in his hands.
After Bishop was taken into custody on the arrest warrant, deputies searched the apartment. Once their investigation was complete Bishop was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and the outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Also on Tuesday, acting on a tip deputies went to 637 S. Double or Nothing Road in eastern Scott County to talk with resident Christopher Mills. A search of the residence revealed over 300 grams of marijuana and a large amount of marijuana atomizers.
Christopher Mills was charged with possession of marijuana.
On Thursday, Feb. 21, deputies made a traffic stop at the intersection of US 31 & Vest Street in Scottsburg. The driver of the vehicle, Gretchen Whicker, 47, of Scottsburg allowed a search of her vehicle. Officers found marijuana, methamphetamine and pills for which she did not have a prescription. Whicker was incarcerated in Scott County Jail charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of controlled substance. Officers with the Scottsburg Police Department assisted in the arrest.
