An investigation going on for more than a year by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of two people in Crothersville last Wednesday on multiple drug charges.
Roger Dale McIntosh, 54, of 422 S. Armstrong Street in Crothersville, was charged with five felony counts of dealing drugs, Sheriff Michael Carothers said.
Jessica J. Tash, 25, Lexington, also was arrested at McIntosh’s home on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, Carothers said.
The Jackson County Emergency Response Team served a search warrant at McIntosh’s residence at 5:30 a.m. Wed-nesday, March 12. He was booked into the county jail in Browns-town at 6:04 a.m.
Carothers said a number of narcotics or prescription drugs were found at the residence along with $10,000 in cash.
Tash is a friend of McIntosh’s daughter and was staying at the home when police entered the home Wednesday.
“When we served the warrant, she had drugs on her at the time,” Carothers said.
Carothers said the investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit.
“There had been under-cover work for the past 15 months, and we finally had enough to put it all together,” he said. “We were able to obtain the warrant.”
Sheriff’s vehicles could be seen for much of the day at theMcIntosh residence as they conducted their search of the residence and vehicles.
Carothers does not expect more arrests to be made, but further drug charges could be pursued.
In an unrelated incident, sheriff’s deputies arrested McIntosh’s daughter, Morgan McIntosh of the same address, shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 11, on a warrant charging two counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury.
The warrant is a result of a traffic accident last summer when a truck McIntosh was driving ran a stop sign, lost control and struck a concrete retaining wall in Dudleytown injurying two passengers.
Drugs may have played a part in that accident, authorities said.
