Tickets are now available for the Friday, November 12, and Saturday, November 13, production of “Ever Young” at Hamacher Hall in Crothersville.
Dinner and Theater will be presented by The Crothersville Town Players. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the Dinner will begin at 7 p.m.
The play, written by Alice Gestenberg, circa 1905, is the lively telling of friends and casual acquaintances dealing with the disadvantages of growing older. The script has comedic flair.
At the turn of the Twentieth Century, Gerstenberg attended Bryn Mawr, a college known in the day for providing education to many high society women. During her education, she began writing plays and performing in college theatrical productions.
Playwright Gerstenberg is most noted for her adaptation to stage, the works of Lewis Carroll, “Alice in Wonderland”.
The Crothersville cast includes, Eunice Lacey as Mrs Payne-Dexter, Linda Seals as Mrs. Agnes Dorchester, Brenda Holzworth as Mrs. William Blanchard and Brenda Bradley portraying socialite, Mrs. Caroline Courtney-Page.
Other members of the cast include, Z. Madge Wilson, Dorothy J. Bibb-Rice, Bill Nagle, and Marvin & DeEtta Chasteen.
The artistic director of production is Marcia C. Fleetwood.
Tickets will be sold for table seating and the tables will be decorated by area businesses, clubs and groups.
Each table setting will include free gifts and specialty items from their table sponsor.
Tickets are available for purchase now at a cost of $15 for the 3-course meal, live performance theater and gifts from sponsored tables.
Seats are limited, so persons wishing to attend are urged to secure their tickets early.
The dinner menu will include Cream of Broccoli and Cheddar Soup, Orange Glazed Chicken Medallions with Stir-Fry Vegetables served over Rice, Buttered Dinner Roll, Assorted Desserts, Coffee – Iced Tea – Lemon ale
The stage is located at Hamacher Hall, 211 East Howard Street. Hamacher Hall is the former 1st Presbyterian Church of Crothersville.
The Dinner Theater is a fund raising event to support the current and future needs of the Historical and Cultural Arts Association of Crothersville.
Memberships are available and donations are accepted.
