online eagle

A Bald Eagle takes off from a lofty perch along the Muscatatutack River west of Crothersville over the weekend. Re-introduced to Indiana in the late 1980’s, the first successful nesting occured in 1991. Since then the large raptor has been slowly expanding its feeding and nesting range.
Eagles can be easily seen in the winter perched along river banks and other bodies of water in tall trees. While their primary diet is fish they also prey on small mammals and birds.
