A 34-year-old Borden woman has been charged in connection with an accident on I-65 which claimed the lives of a former Crothersville couple.

Indiana State Police have charged Jennifer P. Just with multiple counts including driving under the influence of controlled substance resulting in the deaths of 83-year-old James Jewell and his wife, 84-year-old Thelma ‘Jackie’ Jewell.
Police said Just was the driver of a red Ford Ranger pickup truck that rear ended the Jewell’s Toyota pickup truck on I-65 near the 32 mile marker shortly before 1 p.m. on December 13. That initial impact caused the Jewell’s vehicle to cross the median and come into the path of a southbound 2005 Volvo semi tractor trailer, police reported. The Jewells died in the second crash with the semi.
Just was charged with two counts each of:
•Operating a vehicle causing death with controlled substance in the blood,
•Failure to stop after accident resulting in death,
•Operating under the influence causing death,
•Reckless homicide,
•Operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in the blood causing serious bodily injury,
•Causing serious bodily injury while operating while intoxicated, and
•a single charge of false informing.
Just was booked into the Scott County Jail.
