A total of 50 properties sold last Thursday as a part of the Jackson County Delinquent Property Tax Sale. The list first advertised in early September had 137 properties on the past due tax list.
Five parcels failed to receive the minimum bid of past due taxes and may be included on a Commissioner’s Certificate Sale later next year, according to County Auditor Kathy Hohenstreiter.
There were 25 buyers registered for the tax sale.
In Crothersville, two parcels were sold for back taxes. A residence on 209 Myers Street had $1,916.24 owed and was purchased for $27,000 by M&M Investment Group of Cortland.
M&M Investment also purchased a residence at 101 East Street for $56,000 on which delinquent taxes of $3,881.83 were owed.
